February 1st - Two games on Sunday kicked off the February monthly competition. Arsenal hammered Aston Villa at the Emirates. They scored five without reply to move back up to fifth in the table. They're now level on points with Southampton who slipped to a surprise defeat at home to Swansea - Jonjo Shelvey scored the winner in that one with just a few minutes to go.

It's very early days in the latest monthly competition but we already have three people sharing the lead on ten points having predicted an Arsenal victory and having Olivier Giroud as one of their chosen goalscorers - David Bone, Alan Boyle and Gerry Moore - full details below

Go ed Jonjo lad....

February 7th and 8th - Derby day in the Premier League kicked off with Spurs giving their top four hopes a huge boost and beating local rivals Arsenal into the bargain. Mezut Ozil had the Gunners ahead at White Hart Lane but tow second half goals from Harry Kane saw Tottenham emerge victorious and climb above their rivals to fifth in the table. The Merseyside Derby was full of energy but lacking quality as Everton and Liverpool played out a scoreless draw at Goodison Park. Chances were few and far between with Jordon Ibe striking a post for Liverpool and Seamus Coleman forcing a good save from Simon Mignolet late on.

Man City's poor run of form continued as they dropped points at home to Hull. The game finished one-all with City needing an injury time equaliser from James Milner to cancel out David Meyler's opener. Chelsea took full advantage of that slip up to move seven points clear at the top. Branislav Ivanovic scored his fifth goal in six games against Villa to stretch Chelsea's lead at the top to seven points in what looks to be an inevitable march towards the title.

Elsewhere on Saturday there were home defeat for two of the relegation candidates. QPR's first match after Harry Redknapp's departure saw them concede an injury time winner to Southampton. Leicester lost by the same scoreline at home to Crystal Palace who made it four wins from five under Alan Pardew.

Sunday's three games all ended in draws. Burnley lost another two goal lead, this time at home to West Brom. Peter Crouch scored a last minute equaliser for Stoke at Newcastle - it was a similar story at West Ham where Daley Blind scored an injury time goal to earn Man United a point. That result leaves a gap of eight points between Southampton in third place and West Ham in eighth. Gerry Moore is the new leader in the February competition with 60 points - he's five clear of both Kevin Donohoe and Shane Horan
.

Seven celebrate Chelsea going seven clear....

Arsenal get kaned.....

February 10th and 11th - Chelsea remain seven points clear but needed a last minute winner from Willian to see off Everton's challenge at Stamford Bridge. He struck home a deflected shot just after Gareth Barry was sent off in the type of victory that might just suggest their name is on the trophy. Sergio Aguero scored twice in Man City's four-one win at Stoke to suggest they won't give up their title without a fight though.

Man United beat Burnley three-one at Old Trafford to move back into third place to move back into third place in the table - Chris Smalling scored twice in that one. Southampton slipped to fourth after being held scoreless by West Ham. Arsenal beat Leicester two-one at the Emirates and climbed back above Spurs who lost at Anfield. Liverpool won that one three-two with Mario Balotelli coming off the bench to score the winner for Brendan Rodgers side.

At the bottom, Paul Lambert was given his marching orders after Aston Villa lost at Hull and dropped into the relegation zone. QPR picked up their first away win of the season, two-nil at Sunderland and moved ahead of Villa on goal difference.

Shane Horan is our new leader in the February competition - he has 105 points and leads Gavin Morgan in second place by just five points. Gerry Moore and Kevin Donohoe are just a further five points back:

Will I An with another smash hit....

What a time to be alive.....

February 21st and 22nd - Chelsea slipped up at home to breathe a little bit of life back into the title race. They seemed set for a straightforward victory when Branislav Ivanovic put them ahead at home to Burnley. However, after Matic reacted to a tackle from Ashley Barnes he saw red. Insult was added to further injury when Ben Mee equalised late on to earn a point for the Clarets. To say Jose Mourinho wasn't best pleased would be a bit of an understatement. Man City then hit five without reply against Newcastle to close the gap to five points.

It was a great weekend for Arsenal and Liverpool in the race for the Champions League spots. Arsenal won two-one at Crystal Palace and Liverpool won two-nil at Southampton. All the other teams in the battle for the top four dropped points - Swansea came from behind to beat Man United at the Liberty Stadium. YSB Jonjo Shelvey scored the winner for the Swans who completed the double over the Mancs this season. Tottenham had to come from two down to earn a point at home to West Ham. Harry Kane scored a very late equaliser in that one.

At the bottom of the table, Tim Sherwood got off to a bad start at Aston Villa. Despite taking the lead at home to Stoke they still ended up with no points as Victor Moses scored the winner from the spot in injury time. Leicester were heading for a big three points in the relegation six pointer at Goodison Park but were denied at the death by a late own goal, having to settle for a point instead. QPR are just outside the relegation zone after losing two-one at Hull - Joey Barton sent off in that one.

Kevin Donohoe is back in front in the February competition - he has 130 points, five ahead of Gavin Morgan and Gerry Moore - all to play for with next Saturday's games deciding this month's contest...

Why always mee?????

Liverpool legend stuns United.....

February 28th - A case of mistaken identity at Old Trafford helped Man United to a two-nil win on Saturday. Wayne Rooney scored twice as United moved back into third place but the real talking point was the referee mixing up John O'Shea and Wes Brown as the former United man received a red card on his return to the Theatre of Dreams....

The wheels appear to be coming off both Southampton and West Ham's challenges for a European spot. Sandro Berahino's second minute goal was enough for West Brom to beat the Saints. West Ham crashed to a three-one defeat at home to Crystal Palace. Glenn Murray scored twice and then got sent off as Alan Pardew had a happy homecoming to Upton Park.

Burnley missed their chance to climb out of the bottom three, losing at home to Swansea. Peter Crouch scored sixty one seconds after coming off the bench as Stoke beat Hull one-nil. It was the same scoreline at St James's Park as Newcastle beat Aston Villa - Papiss Cisse scored the winner as Tim Sherwood made it two defeats from two in charge of Villa.

A score of 155 points was enough for Gavin Morgan to win February's competition - he was ten points clear of four people - Kevin Donohoe, Maria Jordan, Simon Purdue and Shane Horan - full details below:
