March 1st - Man City's title defence looks all but over after they lost two-one at Liverpool. Two stunning goals from Jordan Henderson and Philippe Couthinho either side of an Edin Dzeko equaliser were enough for the Reds to beat the champions and continue their own pursuit of a Champions League place. Arsenal put two past Everton without reply to climb back to third in the table - Olivier Giroud and Tomas Rosicky scored the goals in that one as Arsenal bounced back from their defeat to Monaco earlier in the week.

Alan Boyle is the early leader in the March competition - he has twenty points and leads Liam Geraghty and Sharon Behan by five points ahead of the midweek games - full details below

Coutinho does it again....

March 4th to 7th - A full mid week programme saw Chelsea maintain their five point lead at the top. Eden Hazard headed the winner as they picked up a very valuable three points away to West Ham. Man City put two without reply past Leicester to ensure they stayed in touch in second place. Arsenal remain third after their two-one win at QPR. Man United and Liverpool remained in the hunt for Champions League football next season. Tim Krul gifted Ashley Young a last minute winner at St James's Park. Liverpool had a straightforward two-nil win at home to Burnley - Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge on the mark in that one.

Christian Benteke scored an injury time winner from the penalty spot as Aston Villa climbed out of the relegation places beating West Brom two-one. Hull and Sunderland were both happy with a point as they drew one-all. Everton will be looking over their shoulders anxiously following a two-nil defeat at Stoke.

In the other midweek games, Spurs beat Swansea three-two at White Hart Lane. Southampton beat Crystal Palace one-nil to keep their hopes of European football alive.

Saturday's only game saw QPR miss the chance to move out of the relegation zone. Harry Kane scored twice as Spurs won for the second time in four days. sandro scored a late goal against his old team but Spurs held on for the three points.

We have joint leaders in the March competition - Anastas Popov and Fiachra Moynihan lead the way on 90 points each followed by Joe O'Hehir five points back:

Hazard stoops to conquer....

My dad's bigger than your dad.....

March 14th and 15th - Chelsea might have crashed out of Europe in midweek (no history...) but it looks like they'll win the Premier League by default this season. Man City had a chance to cut the lead at the top to two points when they visited Burnley on Saturday evening. However, another defeat suggests they're going to surrender their title without much of a fight this season. George Boyd scored the goal that was cheered loudly in West London.

Arsenal are now only a point behind Man City in third place now after a three-nil win at home to West Ham - Giroud opened the scoring just before half time and late goals from Ramsey and Flamini added gloss to the scoreline.

The rest of Saturday's games involved teams in the relegation battle. Leicester remain bottom after a nil-all draw at home to Hull. QPR look in deep trouble too after falling to a three-one defeat at Crystal Palace. Aston Villa put four past Sunderland without reply at the Stadium of Light. Benteke and Agbonlahor scored twice each in the first half which saw the home supporters streaming for the exits early on. Saturday's other game saw West Brom beat Stoke one-nil.

Three games took place on Sunday with the early kick off at Stamford Bridge. Diego Costa opened the scoring for Chelsea against Southampton but the leaders had to settle for a point when Dusan Tadic equalised from the spot for Ronald Koeman's side. Man United did their prospects of a top four finish no harm at all with a three-nil win over Spurs at Old Trafford - this one was over inside 35 minutes after goals from Fellaini, Carrick and Rooney. Everton eased their relegation fears winning by the same scoreline at home to Newcastle - McCarthy, Lukaku and Barkley were on the scoresheet in that one.

Anastas Popov now leads the March competition all on his own - he has 120 points and is five clear of Alan Boyle in second place. With seven people a further five points behind it looks like we might have a sprint finish to the March competition next weekend:

Taxi for Pellegrini....

Chelsea held but go six clear.....

March 21st and 22nd - With Chelsea not playing until Sunday, the focus was on the battle for the Champions League places. Man City faced West Brom in the early kick off and were helped on their way to three points when Neil Swarbrick sent off the wrong player. Goals from Bony, Fernando and Silva ensured a good end to a bad week for the champions after they crashed out of the Champions League midweek.

The two North London teams won too - Olivier Giroud scored twice as Arsenal held on for a two-one win at Newcastle. Harry Kane scored a hat trick as Tottenham pipped Leicester in a seven goal thriller at White Hart Lane.

Burnley are still in the relegation positions after losing
two-nil at Southampton. Shane Long opened the scoring in that one as Ronald Koeman's side won again. Elsewhere, Alan Pardew proved he can do on a cold Saturday afternoon at Stoke as his Crystal Palace side won two-one. Aston Villa still aren't safe after a very late Bafetimbi Gomis goal earned the points for Swansea at Villa Park. Dick Advocaat's first game in charge for Sunderland ended in familiar defeat as they lost one-nil at West Ham - Diafra Sakho scored the winner with just two minutes left in that one.

Sunday's games saw an away day treble (unfortunately...). Juan Mata scored twice as Man United won two-one at Liverpool. Steven Gerrard lasted 38 seconds after coming on as substitute at half time, receiving a straight red card for stamping on Ander Herrera. Chelsea survived a fright at Hull to stay six points clear - Loic Remy scored the winner in that one. Everton won the relegation six pointer at Loftus Road - Aaron Lennon scored the decisive goal in a two-one win for the Toffees.

Congratulations to Anastas Popov who wins the March competition with 180 points. He finished 10 points clear of Brian Prendergast and Conor Horan who finished in joint second place:
