October 5th to 7th - The big game of the weekend finished scoreless at Anfield between Liverpool and Man City. Pep Guardiola's side had a late chance to pick up their first win at Anfield since 2003 but Riyad Mahrez blazed a penalty over the bar with just four minutes to go. That means both sides have twenty points from 24 heading into the international break. Chelsea picked up another three points with a comfortable three-nil win at Southampton on Sunday. Eden Hazard, Ross Barkley and Alvaro Morata scored at St Marys for the Blues. They join City and Liverpool at the top of table after an excellent start under Maurizio Sarri.

Thirteen of you were probably adding an extra fifteen points to your tallies as the half time score from Old Trafford came in. Man United were two down to Newcastle and a P45 was being drafted for Jose Mourinho. However, three second half goals from Mata, Martial and Sanchez ensured a bullet was dodged for now.

It was a good weekend for North London with wins for both Tottenham and Arsenal. Spurs only needed one goal to see off Cardiff at Wembley - Eric Dier with the strike. Arsenal have snuck up on the outside following defeats in their opening two games. They hit Fulham for five at Craven Cottage on Sunday to make it six wins on the bounce in the league. Lacazette and Aubameyang both scored twice in the one for Unai Emery's side.

Glenn Murray scored the only goal on Friday night as Brighton beat West Ham by a goal to nil. Wolves good start to the season continued. They won one-nil at Crystal Palace on Saturday with Matt Doherty scoring his first goal of the season. Bournemouth are another side going well this season - they won four-nil at Watford to climb to sixth in the table - Josh King scored twice against the ten man hosts in that one.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Everton got back to winning ways at Leicester. Gylfi Sigurdsson scored a late winner for Marco Silva's side in that one. The Lancashire Derby between Huddersfield and Burnley saw the points shared after a one-all draw.

The first leaderboard of October sees three people tied for the lead - Pat Jordan, Philip Jordan and Richard Johnston (not Jordan) all have 45 points. Chris Keohan is in fourth place one point back. Full details below:

Over and out from Riyad....

Chelsea marching on...

The inevitable postponed????

October 20th and 21st - Most of the drama after the international break came at Stamford Bridge where the points were shared between Chelsea and Man United. Antonio Rudiger had put Chelsea ahead but a second half double from Antony Martial looked like taking the points to Old Trafford. However, it all kicked off in the 96th minute when Ross Barkley equalised to maintain the hosts' unbeaten record. One of the Chelsea backroom staff then gestured towards Jose Mourinho which lead to the Special Once chasing him down the tunnel. All very unnecessary but entertaining for the neutral.

Man City continue to lead the table on goal difference. They put five past Joe Hart's Burnley on his return to the Etihad with Aguero, Bernardo Silva, Fernandinho, Mahrez and Sane on the mark for the champions. Liverpool won again with Mo Salah scoring for the first time in a month in their one-nil win at Huddersfield. the Reds were twelve points behind Man City this time last year. Their haul of 23 points from 27 is also their best start to a season in a decade.

Tottenham joined Chelsea on 21 points just two points behind the leaders. Erik Lamela continued his recent scoring burst with the only goal at the London Stadium as they beat West Ham. Bournemouth remain in sixth place despite being held to a nil-all draw by Southampton. Watford and Wolves swapped places in the table as the Hornets picked up a big three points with a two-nil win at Moulineux.

At the bottom, Brighton's one-nil win at Newcastle leaves Rafa Benitez' side rooted to the bottom of the table without a win after nine games. Cardiff picked up their first win of the season and moved out of the bottom three after their four-two win at home to Fulham. Just the one game on Sunday and Everton moved into the top half of the table with victory over Crystal Palace. Two substitutes, Calvert-Lewin and Tosun scored in the last five minutes for Marco Silva's side as Roy Hodgson's brow looked even more furrowed on the sideline....

Trevor Byrne holds a two-point lead in the October competition with just next weekend's games to go. He's closely pursued by Gavin Morgan and Philip Jordan with Richard Johnston and Anastas Popov in contention too. Full details below:

Cardiff pick up their first win....

You can't keep a good Mo down....

October 27th to 29th - The tragic events at the King Power Stadium made events on the pitch fairly irrelevant at the weekend. At the time of writing there has been no confirmation of fatalities following the helicopter crash. As we wait for further news, the thoughts and prayers of the wider football family are with all associated with Leicester City.

With the weekend's big game not taking place until Monday night, Liverpool made the most of their opportunity to go top of the table. They beat Cardiff four-one at Anfield. The Red strikeforce seems to be clicking into gear again with Sadio Mane scoring twice and Mo Salah scoring his fourth goal in a week. Chelsea also scored four in their victory at Burnley. Goals from Willian, Morata, Barkley and Loftus-Cheek saw the team from Stamford Bridge climb to second in the table. They'll be just two points off the lead no matter what the outcome at Wembley on Monday night.

Arsenal's winning run came to an end - they dropped points in a two-all draw at Crystal Palace. Two penalties from Luka Milivojevic cancelled out strikes from Xhaka and Aubamayang. Bournemouth's three-nil win at Fulham saw them remain in sixth place. Watford beat Huddersfield by the same scoreline at Vicarage Road and are now seventh in the table.

Manchester United came out on top in the Moyes Derby beating Everton two-one at Old Trafford. Paul Pogba and Antony Martial fired United into a two-goal lead before Gylfi Sigurdsson pulled one back for the Welsh side. Despite the late consolation, United held on for the three points. Newcastle remain without a point but moved off the bottom of the table drawing nil-all at Southampton. Glenn Murray scored the only goal as Brighton picked up a useful three points at home to Wolves.

Chris Keohan picked up five points from Man City's one-nil win at Tottenham on Monday night to claim first prize. He had two points to spare from Anastas Popov and Eamon Fox. Aidan Scanlon and Victoria Reid completed the top five for October. Full details below:
