September 1st and 2nd - Leicester hosted Liverpool in the opening game of the weekend and it was the early leaders who came away from The Walker Stadium with the three points. First half goals from Mane and Firmino were enough to see the Reds home despite a Karius-like howler from Allisson in the second half which allowed Rachid Ghezzal to score for the hosts. Chelsea joined Liverpool on four wins from four beating Bournemouth two-nil at Stamford Bridge - they needed goals in the last twenty minutes from Pedro and Eden Hazard to collect the three points. Man City got back to winning ways with a two-one win over Newcastle. Kyle Walker scored the winner in that one after DeAndre Yedlin had earlier equalised an opener from Raheem Sterling. Everton remain unbeaten but drew a third game this season at home to Huddersfield. Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored an immediate equaliser for the Toffees after Philip Billing opened the scoring. Elsewhere on Saturday, the points and four goals were shared at the Amex Stadium as Brighton came from two-down against Fulham. Glenn Murray scored twice in that one. Southampton picked up their first win of the season winning two-nil at Crystal Palace. Perhaps the game of the weekend was the early kick-off on Sunday. Cardiff came from behind twice against Arsenal but ultimately lost three-two after Alexandre Lacazette scored a very late winner for Unai Emery's side. Man United eased their relegation worries with a two-nil win at Burnley. Romelu Lukaku scored both goals in a win which Jose Mourinho described as "satisfactory". Tottenham came crashing back to earth after their three-nil win at Old Trafford on Monday. An own goal had them ahead at Watford but goals by Troy Deeney and Craig Cathcart ensured it was the Hornets and not Spurs who joined Liverpool and Chelsea on twelve points from twelve. The first leaderboard for September sees Damien Martin and Jonathan Fox tied for the lead on 49 points. They're five points clear of Graham Goodwin and Kris Stainton. Full details below: |

| September 15th and 16th - Chelsea went top of the table on goal difference after a four-one win at home to Cardiff. Neil Warnock's side went ahead through Sol Bamba but once Eden Hazard scored the first of his hat-trick there was no looking back for the Blues who made it five wins from five. They're ahead of Liverpool on goal difference - Jurgen Klopp's side won their first big six-pointer of the season battering Spurs two-one at Wembley. Goals from Gini Wijnaldum and Roberto Firmino had the Reds in cruise control until the usual late drama when Erik Lamela pulled one back for the hosts. It's only the third time in their history that Liverpool have opened with five wins. Watford's 100% start to the season came to an end as Man United won at Vicarage Road. Romelu Lukaku added another two goals to his season's tally. They held on for victory despite Andre Gray's late goal and Nemanja Matic's red card. Man City breezed past Fulham at the Etihad - Leroy Sane marked his return to the side with the opener after two minutes. Further goals from David Silva and Raheem Sterling leave Pep Guardiola's side two points off the lead. Elsewhere on Saturday, Bournemouth put four past Leicester to climb to fifth in the table. Arsenal won for the third game in a row - goals from Xhaka and Ozil saw off Newcastle's challenge at St James's Park. Crystal Palace celebrated (?) a year of Roy Hodgson in charge with a one-nil win at Huddersfield - Wilfried Zaha scored the only goal in that one. Two games on Sunday saw West Ham pick up their first points of the season. Two goals from Andriy Yarmolenko helped the Hammers earn a three-one win at Goodison Park. That victory also takes Manuel Pellegrini's side out of the relegation zone. Burnley are now bottom of the table - they lost again, this time at Wolves and only have one point so far. Raul Jiminez scored the only goal at Molineux as Wolves climbed to ninth in the table. Jonathan Fox retains the lead in the September competition. He has 101 points and is five clear of Damien Martin in second place. Three people share third place, a further five points back - Graham Goodwin, Kris Stainton and Pat Jordan. Full details below: |

| September 22nd and 23rd - With Chelsea not playing until Sunday, Liverpool took their opportunity to go back to the top of the table with a three-nil win at home to Southampton. An opening own goal was added to by Joel Matip and Mohamed Salah as the Reds made it six wins from six for the first time in their history. Man City moved ominously into contention with a five-nil win at Cardiff. Sergio Aguero celebrated his new contract with the opener and further goals followed from Bernardo Silva, Gundogan and Mahrez (2). Man United dropped more points at Old Trafford as they were held by Wolves. It was a case of Mourinho being foiled by Moutinho as the Portuguese player scored his first of the season to equalise Fred Flinstone's opener for the hosts. A two-one win at Brighton saw Tottenham win after three consecutive defeats. Goals from Harry Kane and Erik Lamela got them back to winning ways. After losing their last three games by a scoreline of two-one, Spurs were happy to get anotehr three points on the board. Elsewhere on Saturday, Burnley kickstarted their season with a four-nil win at home to Bournemouth - Ashley Barnes scored the last two goals in that one. Leicester came from behind to beat Huddersfield three-one. The battle of the former Liverpool managers between Crystal Palace and Newcastle finished scoreless at Selhurst Park. Honours even was also the outcome at Craven Cottage where Fulham and Watford shared the points after a one-all draw in the early kick-off. Aleksandar Mitrovic moved to the top of the scoring charts following his goal with five minutes to go. Chelsea's 100% record came to an end on Sunday. It finished goalless in the London Derby against West Ham. The Hammers had the better of the chances but couldn't find the net with both teams having to settle for a point in the end. Arsenal made it four wins in a row in the final game of the weekend. It was scoreless at half time at the Emirates against Everton but second half goals from Lacazette and Aubameyang saw the hosts move up to sixth in the table. All those results leave us with a four way tie at the top of the September leaderboard - Damien Martin, Jonathan Fox, Paul Moore and Karl Boland all have 140 points. They're three points clear of John Brophy with Graham Goodwin a further two points back. It's all to play for next weekend as the second monthly winner of the season will be decided. |

| September 29th and 30th - the big game at the top of the table on Saturday finished all square as Chelsea and Liverpool drew one-all at Stamford Bridge. Eden Hazard looked like being the thorn in Liverpool's side once again after opening the scoring but an equaliser from Daniel Sturridge on 89 minutes preserved the Reds' unbeaten league record. That draw allowed Man City to move to the top of the table on goal difference. They beat Brighton two-nil at the Etihad with goals from Sterling and Aguero ahead of next weekend's visit to Anfield. Arsenal and Tottenham both moved to within four points of the lead with two-nil wins. Arsenal left it late with an own goal from Cathcart and one from Ozil in the last ten minutes needed to secure the points against Watford. Two goals from Harry Kane saw Spurs move into fourth spot with a win at Huddersfield. The crisis at Man United deepened after they slumped to a three-one defeat at West Ham. Goals from Anderson, Arnautovic and an own goal from Lindelof condemned Jose Mourinho's side to another defeat as they fell nine points behind the leaders after only seven games. Newcastle have lost their first four home games for the first time in their history after a two-nil defeat at home to Leicester. Jamie Vardy and Harry Maguire scored as the Foxes climbed to seventh in the table. Elsewhere on Saturday, Wolves picked up another win beating Southampton two-nil at home. Everton picked up three points scoring three without reply at home to Fulham. Only one game on Sunday where Sam Vokes scored a late winner for Burnley away at Cardiff. Neil Warnock's side remain without a win this season, it's between him and Mourinho for the sack race now ; ) It's not the first time we've ended up with joint winners in the monthly competition - never been a draw between a father and son until now though! Jonathan and Eamon Fox finished tied on 194 points each. They had eight points to spare over Damien Martin in third place with Liam Keohan finishing fourth: |
